Traveling Deer Show Coming to Hampton-Dumont Middle School on September 12, 2012

Canton, OH – Steve Porter, of Porter’s Trophy Whitetails, will be bringing his trophy bucks to the Hampton-Dumont Middle School in Hampton, IA to educate students about buck behavior, antler development and the importance of being a responsible hunter.

Mr. Porter is from Minnesota and has been touring schools across North Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin for four years educating students and adults.

The traveling deer show is being sponsored by Cervid Livestock Foundation; the research & education foundation of the North American Deer Farmers Association; the Minnesota Deer Breeders Association; Whitetails of Wisconsin; North Dakota Deer Ranchers; North Dakota Elk Growers; and the Texas Deer and Wildlife Association.

Shawn Schafer, Executive Director of NADeFA, says this about Steve Porter’s Trophy Whitetails. “We are proud to sponsor Steve as he brings his exhibit to educate students about deer across the upper Midwest. Too often our students are too involved indoors, and not outdoors to enjoy nature. Hopefully, Mr. Porter’s visit to Hampton, Iowa will leave the students ready to explore the outdoors in search of a ‘Trophy buck!’”

The North American Deer Farmers Association is dedicated to the promotion of deer farming and ranching as an agricultural pursuit and serves its members through its education programs and publications and by providing leadership in setting and maintaining quality standards.
